 Mindrolling Monastery is one of the of the six monasteries of the Nyingma school of Buddhism and was built in 1965 by Khochhen Rinpoche . The place consists of the world's tallest stupa of an height of 60m. The place is an excellent example of Buddhist art . This place is located in Dehradun.

The Mindrolling  Monastery is also known as Tibetan Temple or simply Dehradun's Buddha Temple is considered as one of the largest Buddhist Monastery in India and the largest Buddhist centre in World . It was initially constructed by Rigzin Tendak Lingpa in 1676 . It was further re-built in by Khochhen Rinpoche 1965 . The purpose behind raising this Monastery was to protect the religious and cultural understanding of Nyingma School of Buddhism . 

The Actual pronunciation of the word Mindrolling is Min-drolling meaning " Place of perfect emancipation " . The main attraction of the monastery  is the 60m tall Stupa and is regarded as the  World's tallest Stupa . Moreover , it has a 35m tall gold statue of Sakyamuni Buddha Statue . The statue is dedicated to the Dalai Lama . The Monastery further comprises of statues of Lord Buddha and Guru Padmasambhava . The Temple is decorated with gold erated paintings , relics , shrines and murals of Tibetan art . This monastery have continued to grow up and today it has became World's largest Monastery . This monastery trains around 300 monks to pass on the message of peace and tranquility in the entire world . 

The Mindrolling Monastery has everything grand in it , The Grand Stupa , The Grand Statue and The Grand Library . A simple visit to this monastery relaxes mind since it offers peace , spirituality and tranquility to its every visitor . The monastery provides a complete 360 degree view of Dehradun valley .
