Tikkar Taal is situated at a distance of 7km from the morni hills. As the name suggests the Tikaar Taal compromise of two man-made lakes , Chhota Taal and bada Taal. One of the speciality of these lakes is that inspite of having a hillock between them. The water level of both the taals remains same.

Tikkar Taal is situated at a distance of 50km from Chandigarh. Tikkar Taal compromises of two lakes referred as Chhota Taal and Bada Taal divided by a hillock. It is believed that these taals are dated back to the time of Pandavas . 

Further, the bigger Taal or lake is known as Bheem taal and smaller taal or lake is known as Draupadi Taal . Bheem taal is 550m wide and 460m long , whereas the Draupadi Taal is 365m wide and long. 

According to locals, both taals are sacred and meet at a point . It is due to this point that both the taals always have same water level. You can also boat from one lake to another lake.

There is also a temple situated near these lakes. The temple is considered to be built in the 12th century and has artifacts from the same. 


This tourist site holds immense beauty and is one of the most visited picnic spot.While visiting these taals one can simply  enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas and lots of wild animals. Animals like jackals, Langurs, Hare, Hyenas, Neelgai, Wild Boars, Barking Deer, Sambar and even Leopards have made this place there home. So, you enjoy a lot of flora and fauna.

Morni Hills

Morni hills is a famous hill station in Haryana. The Morni hills are known for offering immense pleasure and peacefullness. These hills are 1,220m in height and are completely surrounded by shivalik range of Himalayas. Further the hills are connected to major cities which makes it popular vista. 

Gurudwara Nada Sahib 

The holy place resides at a distance of 17km from Morni hills. According to a mythology , it was once when Guru Gobind Singh took rest here when he was going to meet Anandpur Sahib. The Gurudwara is a significant site for the Sikhs and is one of the most visited Gurudwara of India.

Adventure Park 

An Adventure park is also located near by the Morni hills . This park offers a wide range of activities to its visitors . One can enjoy rope climbing, commando nets, Burma bridge, rappelling, and rock-climbing. You can also find a tree house there with fountains , small swings are also available for kids,and a cafeteria. 

Morni Fort 

Morni fort is a gigantic fort is nestled at the top of the Morni hills. The fort is all layed out with green lushes and provides peace to mind. 

Thakurdwara Temple 

Along with being a nature delight , Morni hills is also an important archeological sites. The hills inculcate carving from 7th century. These carving are present in the sacred site, Thakurdwara Temple . It is believed that this temple dates back to the time of Pandavas.
